  New Light on the New Light!!

  just discovered that the 'new light' regarding the the identity of the 'slave' is not so new.

  in the brochure "who are doing jehovah's will today?

  ", (brought out months before the annual meeting) it clearly states in the first paragraph in section 19 that "jesus would appoint the slave - during the time of the end!!

  so here we are, putting decorations on our first pagan tree and 15 yr old daughter doing her first 'xmas' says..... "so what is xmas all about?........

  her jw mother and step father get another epic fail.. they have taught the children nothing.

  WTF! Her JW mother and step father get another EPIC FAIL.

  They have taught the children NOTHING. It's a god damn miracle the kids learnt to dress themselves. Ok, a bit of an exaggeration but seriously, what self respecting JW parent teaches them nothing about their beliefs and yet expects them to blindly follow? oh...thats how it works isn't it...

  Levels

  i have a few questions but first let me lay out what i think i know and please correct me if i'm wrong.. .

  there are 'normal' jws and there are elders.

  the elders have had a kind of promotion (they way they see it) and have some 'priviliges' and access to publications that 'normal' jws don't.

  The pioneer book is not 'secret' like the elders though.

  We were told we could share what was in it with regular publishers when we got home from school.

  JWs will tell you there are no levels. There are not levels in the sense of ''I am a level 4 JW and you are only a level 2" etc, but they do restrict information in written form till you are deemed spiritualy strong enough to move from 'milk' to 'solid food'.

  Still, it makes no difference, most are as dumb as a box of rocks...i was!

  Volunteering in your community

  how do you feel about it after the jw's??

  personally, i was never much of a fan of volunteering for anything.

  i just didn't understand what people got out of it.

  I do.

  I am on the local 'progress commitee' working towards preserving and displaying the localities history and am also the editor of the local news letter (more pages than the watchtower i might add).

  Why? Because its a great area and a nice way to try and give back som of the love shown to us by the locals, because its a good way to socialize as well.

  Sure beats the hell out of the WT version of community service!

  i just saw this done on a tv show and was intrigued by the answers (almost unanimously yes).

  "yes, but my husband is about to retire so i'm going to have to start telling him the truth!".

  "ohhh, yes - if my husband knew the truth he'd need medication!".

  No secrets

  we earn our own money, have a common bills account that we put a set amount in each week. Once we have paid our share our money is our money to do whatever we like with.

  To me, nothing worse than a wife who has to ask permission to buy a dress or a guy who has to get permission to his shit either. I can understand to a piont if either is 'kept' by the other financially, then there has to be some expectation of trust with his/her hard earned dollars.

  These women who lie about their purchases and try to pull one over the husband are IMO selfish gold digging bitches.

  my first pagan tree!

  well, i went to a xmas tree farm today and cut down a pagan tree.

  brought it home much to the delight of the wife and daughter.. been 40 years!.

  i often wondered why i couldnt come at a tree for the last 12 years out of christianity.

  Best thing for me is the smell.

  My last xmas was when i was 10 and i still vlearly remember the smell and going to cut one down with my dad, so, it had to be a real one...

  I often wondered why I couldnt come at a tree for the last 12 years out of christianity. I knew it was stolen from 'the dreaded pagans' but just could not and still can not get into the christian version of the whole time of the year. But seeing that I do not identify as a christian, and that the word 'pagan' is from the latin meaning ''rural'' or ''of the country'' and I do live in a rural area, I am much more comfortable revelling in the real root of all that this time of year is: PAGAN

  I will quite happily do the whole shebang and wish my family and friends ''happy pagan tree festival''
